Delighted to have won my first French championship with the @bdl!
Helping a french team to win the national championship, especially in the sport where I began my career makes it very special.
Feeling so greatful to have worked with such professional, great and determined players since last September. You pushed your limits and made it at the end. I am so proud of you guys, congrats!
As far as I am concerned, (behind the scenes) work goes on already from next week on 🧠💪🏻

Tennis is a mental game. Being a mental performance coach is as well, especially when they come from tennis themselves. Working more and more with top tennis players, it's a challenge to find the necessary distance with the technical content I know well. It's critical to refrain ourselves from giving answers since doing so won't create any change. Asking (good) questions and helping tennis players to find the answers by themselves is key.

Team dynamic is a fascinating topic. From my experience, we can make a big difference with teams by working on small but important details at both individual and group levels. As my athletes know, I am not a big fan of statistics since they create expectations and take them away from the here and now. But they are important when it comes to the evaluation of the effectiveness of my intervention. I just looked at them for an intervention I just completed yesterday.

I was called at the end of December to help a pro hockey team that was last in the championship at that time. I then started to work regularly with 8 of their foreign players. Since my intervention, the team won 12 games out of 21. They were 12th. They are now 7th and just qualified for the playoffs. The 8 players I have been working with significantly raised their confidence/trust thus their performance. They scored 130 points in 21 games. Some of them doubled their stats over that period. Some of them were regularly awarded best playerof the game. One of them became the best scorer of the whole championship, etc. The impact of those 8 players has been huge.

Obviously, it has been a team effort. And most importantly, players themselves should get the credits for it since they have been 'brave enough' to change few important things.  But from what they told me, my intervention played a big role in the 'mental shift' they experienced. Confidence became more available to them. They trusted themselves again.

Mental performance coaching does not often receive the credit it deserves from team's management. But the reality is that done in an impactful and innovative way (and not only in an reactive way when things are not going well), it does improve significantly performance of players and teams.

This intervention has been a success. Thanks to the players for making it happen.

Knowing the reality of high level sports is a big asset in my practice as mental performance coach. I faced myself pressure, expectations and other challenges, thus I am more able to be impactful

Tennis is a mental game. Playing since the age of 10 and having reached national level as both player and coach, I realized few months ago that I could have done even better with simple techniques and tools on the mental performance side. I am feeling grateful that the process I have been following made me understand the impact of mental toughness on performance. This is now my duty to help others so they do not miss such great opportunity.

Most of pro teams call for mental coaching only when things are not going well. When teams lose several games in a row, when they faces conflictual situations, mental coaching then start to be considered by teams' management.

This year, I started to work with a pro ice-hockey team from the very beginning of the season. I regularly (and proactively) delivered remote mental coaching. Even when things were going well for the team or the players. My objective was to anticipate problems before they happen. At mid-season, the team is leading the championship.

3 weeks ago, I got a call from a team competing in the same championship. This team was last. They had lost 11 games in a row. Confidence was critically down.

After 3 weeks of mental performance coaching, the team won 3 games out of 4. Players I coach contibuted massively to those wins. They showed new confidence and trust. Season is long. But players start to believe again.

Reminder to management of pro teams : mental performance coaching is particularly effective in order to anticipate/prevent problems before they happen. Not after. Call for mental coaching to build capacity, trust and confidence. Proactively.

2021 brought many achievements for me. More involvement in NHL, successful European Championship of Volley-ball with team Finland, increasing support to individual elite athletes, amongst many additional reached goals.

I'd like to thank athletes, teams, coaches I work with for their trust and commitment. At the end of the day, you guys run the show, deal with pressure, expectations etc so a big well done from my side to all of you for your commitment towards my program and your regular improvements.  I feel really privileged to be part of your journey. And I feel grateful for having achieved so much with you all.

Guys, do the same. Take a few minutes to look at all your achievements and be proud. Doing so, you will pave the way of your success in 2022 👏

Sometimes while playing with my little Clara, she reminds me what is really important in life. Clara is mindful, joyful. She makes the most of the here and now. She asks very simple questions because they are the most important to her. She goes with the flow and let her go. She says what she really think without any filters. She also sometimes (often) does not listen to the coach (ahaha) since she prefers trusting herself and be creative. In sum, she has lots of qualities required for high performance and happiness in general. And she is only 4.

Children often show us the way. Often parent do not see it.

Message for the pro guys (parents) I work with : let your kids inspiring you ! Pay attention to what they are trying to tell you. Do not lose joy, purpose, trust because you turned professional. Have fun out there and trust yourself !

Merry Christmas to you all 🎄⛄
