Setting goals are important for yourself since it allows you to measure your level of progress towards an end result. However goals must be clear enough to be assessed as well as realistic. They could relate to a certain time frame (short-term goals, long-term goals etc) but have to reflect the reality and be thought in a realistic manner. Another way to set those goals is to breakdown them though ‘mini-goals’ that will concentrate more on the ‘goal getting’ and what basically you would better to do to reach the final goal. Spend time on setting good goals and ask advice to your supervisor or coach. They may bring the ‘bigger picture’ helping you to define them even more efficiently.
