Perfectionism helps til certain extend. It gives you the ‘training mindsest’ allowing enough self-discipline to train in view of improving again and again. But at some point, being a perfectionist starts to play ‘against’ you mainly by creating high expectations limiting your confidence. Basically, you start ‘expecting’ too much about yourself, nothing you do is good enough. A mixture between the two remain the best approach allowing your best performance at work or in your sport performances. The challenge is for you to find what helps and what does not. Train, be prepared but then let the auto-pilot comes in !
